1° where does the belly button piercing come from?
There are few traces of belly button piercing in history. However, many belly button ornaments have been found, previously used for rituals or simply for aesthetics.
It was at the end of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s that this piercing was really democratized.
First spotlight on this piercing with supermodel Christy Turlington, who wore a belly button piercing during a parade in London in 1993. This appearance takes this piercing out of the underground environment in which it was still.
Subsequently, other personalities have revealed their piercing. Special thanks to Madonna, Beyonce, Janet Jackson and of course, Britney Spears for showing the beauty of this piercing ♡

As with other piercings, the pain is individual. We are not all made the same and do not all have the same sensitivity.

In addition, at MBA – My Body Art, we pierce with the freehand technique, that is to say without pliers, which considerably reduces pain!
Our advice: the more relaxed you are and the deeper you breathe, the less you will feel the needle pass.

However, there are alternatives! You can go to the store to discuss it with our professional teams who will be able to advise you and find the best solution according to your morphology.

You can find all of our care tips for healing a piercing here.
The most important thing is that it is always clean. You should therefore neither touch it nor move it (it’s tempting, we know) and follow the care routine for at least 1 month (namely that it won’t hurt to continue them throughout the healing process. ):
- Lather a small amount of mild soap (neutral pH) on your fingers;
- Apply the hazelnut on the piercing. Do not rotate the piercing! It is simply necessary to clean the contours of the latter so that there is no microbe which can nest there;
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water;
- Let dry ;
- Rinse with saline solution;
- Let dry ;
- For two weeks only: apply a little alcohol-free antibacterial using a sterile compress.
All care will be explained to you on the day of your piercing. If necessary, we offer kits for your care in store.
In case of doubt or problem with healing, you can go to the shop at any time to ask our teams for advice on the care to follow.
